TDP has no candidates to contest LS Polls in AP!

TDP has no candidates to contest LS Polls in AP!

While TDP chief and AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu boasts of playing a 'key role' in national politics by winning 25 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the ground reality remains that TDP is struggling to find candidates even to field in all the 25 seats in AP.

Naidu, who is touring all the states to forge an anti-BJP Front led by Congress to defeat PM Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha polls, has been claiming in all the public meetings that he will call the shots in the formation of any government at the Centre after Lok Sabha polls because TDP will win 25 seats.

In  2014, Lok Sabha elections, TDP in alliance with BJP had won 15 seats. The YSRCP got 8 seats and BJP 2.

Now that TDP has parted ways with BJP, the TDP is going to contest all the 25 seats on its own.

Shockingly, majority of the sitting TDP MPs are shying away from contesting Lok Sabha polls this time under one pretext or the other.

They are coming up with 'lame excuses' to convince Naidu why they wanted to stay away from Lok Sabha polls.

But the reality remains that all the TDP MPs commissioned independent surveys on their own to assess their winning prospects and the surveys revealed that TDP is facing severe anti-incumbency in Assembly seats and with simultaneous polling for Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in AP, the negativity of MLA election polling will adversely impact them and their defeat is certain.

The surveys revealed that YSRCP will sweep Assembly polls along with Lok Sabha polls.

They feel that it would be "too much" to expect from AP voters to vote against TDP in Assembly polling and in favour of TDP in Lok Sabha polling on the same day.

Unable to say 'no' directly to Naidu, these sitting MPs and those candidates, whom Naidu wants to field are coming up with 'impractical demands' saying that they would contest MP seat only if Naidu changes sitting MLAs in at least four to five Assembly seats in the limits of their Lok Sabha constituency or field MLA candidates of their choice in four to five Assembly seats.

They knew very well that it would be impossible for Naidu to meet their demands and as such they would escape contesting Lok Sabha polls and thereby avoid imminent defeat at the hands of YSRCP.
