T-Cong NRI cell filled with TDP people?

Within five days of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) led by A Revanth Reddy, appointing TPCC NRI Cell (USA) with immediate effect, rumblings surfaced among the Telangana NRIs.

This NRI committee is very big with a nine-member core committee and 16-member executive committee, besides special invitees, minority committee, youth committee, advisory committee, social media committee and media in-charges.

Many of the Telangana NRIs are said to be of the view that the TPCC NRI Cell was filled up with a large number of Telugu Desam Party people, who are apparently close to Revanth Reddy. 

Needless to say, the PCC chief still has an affinity towards the TDP and it was because of this reason, he was invited to the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) conference at Philadelphia.

The rumblings came to light with one of the executive committee members of TPCC NRI Cell (USA) Sravanth Poreddy from Austin in Texas, posting a message on Facebook, requesting Revanth Reddy to remove his name from the committee.

He described the committee as Telangana TDP NRI Cell, rather than Telangana Congress NRI Cell, as majority of the committee members have the TDP background and had no concern for Telangana.

“In fact, the Telangana NRIs have been strongly desiring that the Congress should come to power in the state for the well-being of the state and the people, though these NRIs have no political interest. They are also contributing their mite to bring the Congress to power,” he said in the video message.

But the way the committee was filled up with TDP people has hurt the Telangana NRIs. 

“The Congress will get more votes, if it keeps away from the TDP. I don’t want to be part of the committee dominated by the TDP members; hence, I want my name to be deleted from the committee,” Sravanth said.
