Survey showing Jagan in 20th position sponsored by TDP?

Survey showing Jagan in 20th position sponsored by TDP?

A pan-India survey that appeared in Andhra Jyothy Telugu daily and a few other websites and channels showed the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the chief ministers of various states in the country.

The survey, conducted by an agency called Centre for National Opinion Survey (CNOS) showed that Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik is the most popular chief minister in the country with 70 per cent of the people of his state were totally satisfied with his rule and only 19 per cent are unhappy with him.

Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh is in the second position, followed by Uddhav Thackeray of Maharashtra (recently resigned), Himanta Biswa Sarma (Assom), Bhagwanth Singh Mann (Punjab).

The survey revealed that YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy stood in the 20th position out of 25 chief ministers – so, sixth from the bottom, in terms of popularity.

It said only 39 per cent of the people of Andhra Pradesh are happy with Jagan and 29 per cent are dissatisfied with his rule. Another 32 per cent gave a neutral opinion.

Compared to Jagan, Telangana chief minister is in the 11th position, with 49 per cent of people being happy with him, while only 19 per cent are happy and 24 percent of people are undecided.

One doesn’t know how far this survey is correct, as there is no sample size and which sections of people the CNOS had consulted, as the ground reports indicate that Jagan is still enjoying the popularity among the rural people as was proved in the local body elections held in 2021 and also the most recent Atmakur by-poll.

Enquiries with the Registrar of Companies to find out who the promoter of this CNOS is and what his credential are, have revealed that the company belonged to Robin Sharma, the founder of Show Time Consulting Company.

And who is this Robin Sharma? The answer is simple: He is the political strategist and one of the founding team members of Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) promoted by popular strategist Prashant Kishor.

This Robin Sharma has been hired by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for his next elections. There were reports a few months ago that Naidu has dropped him as a consultant, but it is learnt he is still helping the TDP in certain campaigns.

Now, one can understand how the CNOS survey could have been manipulated to run down Jagan. Only doubt one would get is that the survey still says more people admire Jagan than those who don’t like him!
