Ravela quits Jana Sena, to join BJP

Ravela quits Jana Sena, to join BJP

Former minister Ravela Kishore Babu, who resigned from the Telugu Desam Party in November last and joined Jana Sena Party headed by actor Pawan Kalyan, made yet another political somersault on Saturday.

In the morning, Ravela sent a two-sentence resignation letter to Pawan Kalyan stating that he was resigning from the party on personal grounds.

But by evening, he surfaced in the residence of Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party president Kanna Lakshminarayana.

Ravela held discussions with the BJP leader and expressed his interest to join the party.

In all probability, Ravela was going to join the saffron party in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is coming to Tirupati on Sunday. Along with him, several of his followers will also join the BJP.

Apparently, Ravela thought he would have bright future in Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party but after the humiliating defeat of the party in the recent elections, he realised that it is better to be in the mainstream parties rather than making experiment with new parties.

He lost the recent elections at Prathipadu constituency in the hands of YSRC candidate Mekatoti Sucharita, who has now become the home minister of Andhra Pradesh. Having no other option, he has decided to join the BJP.
