Ratna Prabha Made Wrong Declaration?

Retired IAS officer and former chief secretary of Karnataka K Ratna Prabha, who is contesting the by-elections to Tirupati parliamentary seat on behalf of Bharatiya Janata Party has landed in trouble for allegedly submitting wrong declaration before the election authorities.

The returning officer for Tirupati by-election received a complaint from Janata Dal (U) leader A V Ramana against Ratna Prabha, stating that she had declared in her affidavit that there were no criminal cases pending against her in any police station.

However, Ramana pointed out that there were five cases pending against Ratna Prabha in Banjara Hills and Saifabad police stations in Hyderabad and Hanumanthunipadu police station in Prakasam district. He submitted documentary evidence to the police in this regard.

The JD (U) leader also submitted to the authorities that there were no records to prove the caste identity of Ratna Prabha.

He also pointed out that she had been working as chairperson of Karnataka Skill Development Corporation and was also drawing pension as the retired bureaucrat, which was wrong as per the rules.

He demanded that the election commission conduct a probe into his complaint against Ratna Prabha and disqualify her from contesting by rejecting her nomination.
