YSRCP state general secretary Satish Kumar Reddy on Saturday said he was facing a grave threat to his life, as he got a reliable information from his sources in the Telugu Desam Party that there is a conspiracy to eliminate him in Pulivendula.
Speaking to reporters, Satish Reddy alleged state IT minister Nara Lokesh and TDP leader B Tech Ravi (Mareddy Ravindranath Reddy) were orchestrating a sinister plot to assassinate him in Pulivendula.
Citing credible intelligence from TDP well-wishers, Satish claimed the attack was retaliation for his sharp criticisms of Lokesh during his press meets, asserting the intent was not just assault but murder.
He expressed complete distrust in the state police, accusing them of failing to ensure his safety or act impartially amid rising political violence, including an attack on a wedding attendees four days ago and an attempted murder of MLC Ramesh Yadav and Velpula Ramu the following day.
Satish lambasted the TDP-led government, including CM Chandrababu Naidu, for remaining passive as anarchy unfolded, enabling tactics like forcing voters to cast ballots outside their villages, which he suggested undermines fair elections.
He condemned the filing of false SC/ST cases against YSRCP workers, who were in custody during alleged incidents, as a pattern of TDP’s attacks followed by victim-blaming. Criticizing a DIG’s unprofessional conduct and police inaction despite proximity to assault sites.
Satish demanded a suo moto CBI inquiry, holding Lokesh and B Tech Ravi accountable for any harm to him, and urged the DGP to investigate the threat.
He stated that TDP is threatening Sakshi media journalists, undermining democracy, framing the bypoll as a clash between Pulivendula’s resilience and TDP’s “red-book arrogance.”
Satish vowed that YSRCP, led by Pulivendula’s women, would fight the bypoll. Despite personal risks, he vowed that YSRCP, led by local women, will fiercely contest the election, escalating the matter to the Election Commission to address these “unprecedented atrocities” and ensure fair polls.
