Owaisi under fire for allowing anti-Hindu slogans!

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday came under fire for allowing hate speeches by his party leaders at his rally in Bengaluru on Thursday that incurred condemnation from all parties across the country.

What triggered the controversy was the speech of MIM leader Waris Pathan who made provocative statements against Hindus. He said 15 crore Muslims in the country were enough to control 100 crore Hindus.

“The Muslims can be heavy on 100 crore Hindus,” he said.

Similarly, a woman appeared on the stage of the MIM rally and raised “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans much to the shock of the people across the country.

Though Owaisi disowned the woman and condemned her slogans, he was definitely facing embarrassment for allowing her to come on to the stage.

Telangana Congress spokesman G Nirajan said Owaisi should have risen from his seat to stop Waris Pathan and condemn his utterances.

“Owaisi has to introspect himself to know why the people are becoming emotional in his presence to raise anti-national slogans such as Pakistan Zindabad and hatred speeches by his own party men,” he said.

He felt that Owaisi should have expelled Waris Pathan from his party immediately if he was really sincere about his recent talk of having a platform of Dalit, backward classes and Muslims.

Bharatiya Janata Party was obviously furious at Owaisi. BJP official spokesman K Krishnasagar Rao condemned Owaisi for not stalling Waris Pathan's speech nor condemning the venomous communal statements made by him.

He said a woman sloganeering 'Pakistan Zindabad' and Waris Pathan's statements clearly established the real agenda behind anti-CAA protests led by parties like the MIM, the Congress and the Communists.

He sought to know why TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had not condemned the threatening statements made against Hindus by MIM leader.

“Can KCR still claim to be 'secular' by being associated with MIM, while that party is making hateful, insinuating statements against Hindus with a communal agenda?” Rao asked.
