One more to join the list of Jagan's advisors!

There seems to be no end to the list of advisors being appointed by YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for his government.

The latest to join the Jagan government as an advisor is N Chandrasekhar Reddy, former president of AP Non-Gazetted Officers’ Association, who relinquished his office and retired from service on completion of superannuation recently.

The chief minister’s office on Monday wrote a letter to the principal secretary (political) in General Administration Department seeking to appoint Chandrasekhar Reddy as the advisor to the government on employees’ service matters.

Necessary proposals would be circulated to the CMO for issuance of orders appointing Chandrasekhar Reddy as the advisor in a day or two, the CMO note said.

Needless to say, the former APNGOs’ Association leader, known for his staunch affiliation to the ruling YSRC, would get the cabinet rank along with salary and all other perks.

His services would be used by the government in garnering the support of the employees for the ruling party.

A couple of days ago, the Jagan government issued orders appointing outgoing chief secretary Adityanath Das as the chief advisor to the government. He would be positioned in New Delhi and get the cabinet rank.

Adityanath Das, who has already been on a three-month extension as chief secretary, will retire from his service on September 30. The chief minister desired to make use of the services of Adityanath Das on several issues, particularly on irrigation matters.

In the first week of September, the Jagan government appointed Rajnish Kumar, the former chairman of State Bank of India, as economic advisor to the government, to help it bring more private investments to the state.

Rajnish, who is also expected to operate from Delhi or Mumbai, would coordinate with state finance minister Buggana Rajendranath for a period of two years.

The AP government already has around 35 advisors on various subjects. Those who were appointed two years ago have already got extension for another one year, in recognition of their good work.

Each of them was given the cabinet rank with salary and perks amounting to nearly Rs 4 lakh per month, besides all the paraphernalia.

Many of them played a key role in the YSRC for several years and helped the party win the elections in various ways.
