Now, YSRC forms JAC in Rayalaseema

After forming the joint action committee in north coastal Andhra to demand formation of executive capital of the state at Visakhapatnam, the ruling YSR Congress party has announced formation of a separate joint action committee (JAC) in Rayalaseema to pursue the demand for the early setting up of the judicial capital at Kurnool.

This was announced by former government chief whip and YSRC MLA G Srikanth Reddy at a press conference in Kadapa.

He said the JAC would fight tooth and nail against the Amaravati farmers’ agitation opposing the three capitals’ proposal.

Reddy said having the high court at Kurnool was the birth right of the Rayalaseema people.

“We are holding a meeting with intellectuals, people’s representatives and ministers from Rayalaseema and form a JAC to fight for the decentralisation of the administration,” he said.

Stating that the real sacrifice was made by the people of Rayalaseema, not Amaravati farmers.

“In the past, we sacrificed the capital city which went to Hyderabad. Now, we want at least a judicial capital to be set up at Kurnool. We demand that the BJP strive for special status to north coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema,” he demanded.

The YSRCP MLA said those who were participating in the Arasavilli padayatra were not farmers but real estate dealers of Amaravati.

“They are invading the north coastal Andhra and making provocative slogans. Just because they wear green stoles, they cannot claim to be the farmers,” he said.

He said those who were walking in the padayatra had Audi cars, iPhones and iwatches.

“They are doing it to protect their health. They are not tired of walking as they can be seen dancing on the roads. Do we still call them a padayatra or a drama?” he asked.

Reddy demanded that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu should tender an apology to the people of Rayalaseema for betraying their cause.

“He has completely neglected the irrigation projects in Rayalaseema and other developmental works,” he alleged.
