Now, Jagan finds fault with trolling of judges!

Not long ago, the YSR Congress party leaders in Andhra Pradesh were fuming at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for targeting the social media activists of their party on the charges of posting derogatory comments on social media against judiciary in general and judges of the state high court in particular.

These social media workers were allegedly posting abusive comments against the judges who delivered negative judgements against the Jagan government and even passed strong comments against the decisions of the government.

The CBI registered a case against the social media activists on November 11, 2020, against several YSRCP social media activists, following a direction from the state high court.

More than 20 persons were arrested and kept in judicial remand for several weeks before they were released on bail.

Following the high court order, the CBI took steps to see that the objectionable posts were removed from the social media platforms, public domains and a lot of such posts/accounts were removed from the internet.

Interpol notices were issued for the arrest of even those YSRC followers staying abroad and steps were taken to collect evidence from them.

Now, after two years, it is the turn of YSRC leadership to target the Telugu Desam Party’s social media activists for posting negative comments against the ACB court judge and also a couple of high court judges who have been refusing to grant bail to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu.

It was highlighted by none other than chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at the police commemoration day meeting on Saturday.

He called upon the police forces to take stringent action against such anti-social elements of the TDP who indulged in trolling of judges who sent Naidu to jail.

“In Nuzvid, a police constable was murdered. At Angallu, the leader of opposition himself had provoked his party activists to attack the police and at Punganuru, the TDP leaders assaulted the police, leading to severe injuries to 40 police personnel and loss of eyesight to a police constable,” he alleged.

Jagan went on to allege that Naidu, who had indulged in corruption and committed several such heinous crimes, was sent to judicial remand after the judges found all the evidence against him.

“When he could not get a favourable judgement in his favour, his party workers were trolling the judges. They are nothing but anti-social elements and they have no faith in democracy,” he said, adding that law should take stern action against such criminals.
