NIA Files Chargesheet In Jagan Attack Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday filed a preliminary charge-sheet into the case of knife attack on YSR Congress party president and leader of opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in Visakhapatnam on January 25.

However, the NIA did not find out anything more than what the Special Investigation Team of Andhra Pradesh police had done.

The NIA also named only J Srinivasa Rao as the accused no. 1 in the charge-sheet, while no other names have been included. The NIA also did not find any other conspirator in the case.

However, the NIA said the investigation in the attack would continue. It submitted all the letters which were written by Srinivas while he was in jail to the court. The details of the charge sheet would be known on January 25.

Meanwhile, YSR Congress has alleged that the Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu was creating hurdles at every step in the NIA investigation in the attack on Jagan.

YSRC spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said the Naidu government had been trying very hard to stall the NIA investigation into the case but truth will come out and all those involved in the conspiracy would come out soon.

“The manner in which the TDP government is trying to hush up the Vizag airport case makes it clear that big names are involved in the conspiracy case which has resorted to the dirty politics of physically eliminating the popular leader whom they cannot match on any count,” she said.
