Naidu to skip, Jagan to attend Modi meet!

Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided against attending the all-party meeting being held by the NDA government on conducting simultaneous polls for Lok Sabha and state elections at New Delhi on Wednesday.

Naidu would not be available for the meeting as he is leaving for abroad along with his family members for a break.

Initially, he thought he would send his parliamentary party leader Galla Jayadev for the all-party meeting but later changed his mind and decided not to send anybody.

Instead, Naidu will write a letter to Union parliamentary affairs minister Prahlad Joshi expressing his party’s stand on the simultaneous polls.

He would suggest that the Centre should not take any unilateral decision in this regard but achieve a consensus in this regard.

However, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to attend the meeting. He will be leaving for New Delhi on Wednesday morning.

Apparently, he does not want to rub the BJP leaders on the wrong shoulders. He would also present the resolution of the state assembly seeking special category status to AP to the NDA government, sources said.
