My own party stalling my Narasapuram visit, Raju

Rebel YSR Congress party MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju has accused his own party leaders of trying to stall his entry into his own Narasapuram parliamentary constituency in West Godavari district and get him arrested the moment he entered the town.

Raju, who was planning to make a grand entry into Narasapuram on Saturday, deferred his plans on coming to know that he might be arrested and sent to jail as soon as he stepped into the town.

“I was supposed to get a grand welcome into the town with a convoy of 500 cars of my followers in Narasapuram. But I have got specific reports from intelligence department that a police official belonging to Reddy community passed on information to big leaders who immediately instructed the police as to what should be done if I come to the town,” he said.

Raju said local minister Ranganath Raju and YSRC in-charge of East and West Godavari districts Y V Subba Reddy were angry with him because he had exposed their irregularities.

“I complained to the collector against the minister’s corrupt practices in the house sites’ allotment and to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against Subba Reddy on the marsh lands issue in Rajahmundry,” he said.

He alleged that both the minister and Subba Reddy had called up local DIG of police and forced to book him under SC/ST Atrocities Act.

“Just like they did with ex-TDP MLA J C Prabhakar Reddy, who was jailed and got afflicted with Coronavirus disease, the YSRC leaders are trying to send me to jail, so that I, too, can contract Covid-19,” Raju allged.

The MP said he had made repeated attempts to call chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy but was in vain.

“It is unfortunate that the CM has no time to speak to his own party MP,” he regretted.
