Lockdown Rules Not For YSRC Leaders?

Lockdown Rules Not For YSRC Leaders?

At a time when the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been struggling to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the state by talking effective measures, his party leaders seem to more interested in garnering publicity than following the boss.

In several places, the YSRC leaders are caring a damn for lockdown rules and taking out rallies and processions with banners in the form of extending relief to the poor people hit by lockdown on account of Corona.

One has seen how the YSRC MLAs like Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy and Kakani Goverdhan Reddy from Nellore had brazenly went about breaking the rules in the name of distribution of relief to the people.

The party workers did not care about maintaining social distancing and wearing masks. They were more interested in getting publicity, apparently to win the coming local body elections. The MLAs had even challenged the district superintendent of police to take action.

As a result, the police are forced to remain mere spectators to the blatant violation of lockdown by the YSRC leaders, while they continue to arrest common people and even lathi-charge them for violating the norms for their needs.

In Nellore again, on Wednesday night, yet another YSR Congress party MLA Kaveti Sanjeevaiah from Sullurpet took up grocery distribution to the poor in a huge rally. YSRCP Rajya Sabha member V Prabhakar Reddy was also present in the rally.

A few days ago, Srikalahasti MLA B Madhusudan Reddy organised a massive rally in his constituency, after which 25 persons including 11 government officials and staff tested positive for Coronavirus. The district administration had to face a lot of criticism for the failure to stop the rally.

Three days ago, YSR Congress MLA from Nagari in Chittoor district, RK Roja enjoyed a number of poor women throwing flowers and petals at her feet as she royally walked to the venue to inaugurate a public tap and distribute succour to the families that were rendered jobless by the lockdown.
