Konathala vs Nagababu in Anakapalle?

Konathala vs Nagababu in Anakapalle?

Jana Sena Party president and power star Pawan Kalyan, who has decided to field his elder brother Nagababu from Anakapalle Lok Sabha constituency in the coming elections, is understood to have changed his mind.

Though Pawan did not make any official announcement on fielding Nagababu, it is an open secret in the party, as the latter has already started preparatory works for contesting elections.

He has set up an office-cum-residence at Anakapalle and has been regularly interacting with the party leaders and cadre.

However, according to latest reports, Pawan might shift Nagababu from Anakapalle and is looking for a suitable assembly constituency for him.

Reason: Nagababu is not able to jell with former minister and senior leader Konathala Ramakrishna, who has been named as Jana Sena candidate for Anakapalle assembly seat.

In fact, Nagababu lobbied for his close associate Sundarapu Sateesh from Anakapalle assembly seat, but Pawan preferred Konathala. Though Nagababu did not raise any objection, there were protests from Sateesh group, which is not cooperating with Konathala.

As a result, Konathala has stopped attending the meeting convened by Nagababu for parliamentary constituency.

Realising that there is trouble brewing between Nagababu and Konathala, Pawan has decided to shift his elder brother from Anakapalle parliamentary seat.

Sources said as Pawan has no other choice – his party was allotted only three Lok Sabha seats – Kakinada, Anakapalle and Machilipatnam - as part of alliance with the TDP, he has decided to shift Nagababu to any other suitable assembly constituency.

Now, Pawan is looking for a stronger candidate for Anakapalle LS seat. So far, he could not find a strong candidate for the same, sources said.
