Konathala back to his letter-writing!

Konathala back to his letter-writing!

After playing havoc with his own political career with his inconsistent stand in the last five years, former minister Konathala Ramakrishna is now desperately trying to be in political limelight.

Konathala, who played an active role in the YSR Congress party in the initial days before he was expelled for defying party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, made several somersaults before the recent assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

He announced his decision to join the Telugu Desam Party, but later appeared in YSRC camp along with his followers.

Surprisingly, he refused to wear YSRC khanduwa and returned to the TDP camp only to be denied the party ticket. He, however, campaigned for the TDP which lost the polls.

Between 2014 and 2019, Konathala used to spend time in the name of Uttarandhra Charcha Vedika (Forum to debate North Andhra issues), dashing off letters to the Chandrababu Naidu government and also the Centre on issues concerning north coastal Andhra.

Sometimes, he sounds like attacking the Naidu government and some other time, he appears to be going soft.

Now that he is neither here nor there, Konathala is back to his letter-writing. Last week, Konathala wrote a letter to Jagan Mohan Reddy to appoint village volunteers purely on merit basis, rather than on political basis.

He said the proposal to conduct interviews for the posts would become a mean to provide employment to the YSRC workers,” he said.

On Thursday, Konathala dashed off yet another letter, this time to state human rights commission, requesting that the government should resume implementation of mid-day meals scheme for intermediate students in government junior colleges as well.

He expressed concern over the Jagan govenrment’s decision to stop serving mid-day meals for intermediate students.

The decision would affect over two lakh students belonging to BC, SC, ST and minority sections, he said.

Stating that the decision was case of human rights violation, Konathala threatened to move the court if the decision was not revoked.
