Jagan's 'Digital Book' to counter Lokesh's Red Book

Jagan's 'Digital Book' to counter Lokesh's Red Book

When the Telugu Desam Party was in opposition between 2019 and 2024, party general secretary Nara Lokesh used to flaunt a “Red Book” in which he would note down the names of the bureaucrats, police officials and YSRCP leaders who created troubles for the TDP leaders and allegedly harassed them.

Soon after the TDP coming to power in June 2024, Lokesh began implementing his “Red Book” constitution, targeting all those who were named in it one after the other. Several officials and YSRCP leaders who figured in the Red Book are facing the music now.

For the last few days, YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, too, has been sending stern warning to the officials, police and TDP leaders, who are resorting to witch-hunt of the party leaders and workers.

He declared that once he returns to power in 2029, he would show them the taste of power and would not spare them, even if they hide in foreign countries.

“We shall show them a colourful cinema,” he said.

On Tuesday, Jagan announced the launch of a Digital Record Book on the lines of Lokesh’s Red Book.

The only difference, according to Jagan is that this Digital Record will have the data of the “misdeeds” of officials who are targeting the YSRCP workers, so that they would be punished once he returns to power.

In a way, it is a sort of “Digital Chitragupta,” said an analyst. “It is a mobile application to enable people to register complaints regarding the harassment of the YSRCP workers, leaders, and supporters by the current coalition government in Andhra Pradesh."

During the YSRCP Political Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting held on Tuesday, Jagan said that the mobile app will allow users to submit complaints along with evidence, and assured that once the party returns to power, appropriate action will be taken based on those complaints.

“If anyone across the state faces harassment from any official, they can go to the app, which will prompt them to explain how they were wronged. Complainants can detail who harassed them and how, and will also have the option to upload supporting evidence. Once submitted, the complaint will be stored in the YSRCP Digital Library,” he said.

After returning to power in 2029, Jagan will review the digital records, identify who committed the injustice, under whose direction, and based on the available proof, legal action will be taken.

He assured that those who wronged YSRCP workers will be brought before the law and "shown a movie," meaning they will be made to face consequences.

“The perpetrators will be made to pay back with interest. Whatever you sow, that is what you shall reap,” he said. He announced that the app will be launched within ten days.
