Bank fraud case: RRR gets anticipatory bail

Bank fraud case: RRR gets anticipatory bail

Andhra Pradesh assembly deputy speaker K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju was on Thursday granted bail by the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi in connection with a bank loan default case.

Raju, accused No. 2 (A-2) in the case, appeared before the court in person on Thursday.

The court granted him bail with a surety bond of Rs 50,000 and directed that he should not be arrested during the course of the investigation.

Apart from Raju, four other accused individuals in the case were also granted bail by the court.

The case, investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), involves allegations of bank loan irregularities. The agency has filed an extensive chargesheet reportedly exceeding 15,000 pages.

Given the voluminous documentation, defence counsels requested additional time for scrutiny. Accepting the plea, the court adjourned further proceedings to July 6, 2026.

The court also issued directives to concerned authorities to submit details regarding the liquidation status of the companies named as accused in the case.

The next phase of hearings is expected to focus on document examination and procedural compliance.
