Jagan vs Judiciary: Interesting Battle!

Jagan vs Judiciary: Interesting Battle!

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy appears to have decided to go all out to fight against a section of judiciary that has become a stumbling block in the implementation of crucial decisions by his government’s decisions.

It is learnt he is planning to kick up a nation-wide debate over certain orders issued by the high court judges against his government.

The way his party MPs raised the issue of the high court’s order in connection with the Amaravati land scam in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha is a clear indication to Jagan’s strategy in this regard.

At the same time, the YSR Congress party has also kicked up a debate in the social media on the spate of judgements given by the high court against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in the last one year.

The whole objective of this debate is not exactly to malign the judiciary as a whole, but to expose a section of judges who allegedly got benefitted during the Chandrababu Naidu regime.

“This is not a fight between the government and judiciary. It is only to bring to the notice of the people as to how these judges are creating hurdles in the governance,” a source said.

It is learnt the Jagan government is digging out evidences to prove that some of such judges in the high court had been allotted plots in the prime area of Amaravati during the fag end of Naidu regime.

“It is a debatable question as to whether judges can accept the plots allotted to them at subsidised rates by the government. Some may find it unethical and others say there is nothing wrong in it as they are not getting them free of cost. But one cannot find fault with the people if they question the impartiality of the judgements delivered by these judges,” the source said.
