Jagan to Launch Praja Sankalpa Yatra 2.0 in 2027

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has announced that former Chief Minister and party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will undertake a new Praja Sankalpa Yatra in 2027, renewing his commitment to welfare-focused governance and direct engagement with the people.

The announcement was made on the eighth anniversary of Jagan’s historic Praja Sankalpa Yatra, which began in 2017 and lasted 341 days, covering 3,648 kilometers across 134 constituencies — a landmark journey that cemented his image as a leader connected to the grassroots.

Former minister Perni Venkataramaih (Nani) stated that the 2027 yatra will serve as a fresh effort by Jagan to reconnect with citizens, rebuild trust, and reinforce people-oriented governance in Andhra Pradesh.

YSRCP leaders used the occasion to highlight Jagan’s achievements in public welfare, including the modernisation of over 16,000 schools and the establishment of 17 new government medical colleges.

They alleged that the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government is reversing these gains by encouraging privatisation in the medical sector and discontinuing English-medium education in government schools, thereby reducing opportunities for the underprivileged.

Party leaders also criticised the current administration for its administrative failures, citing recurring deaths at temples and public events due to poor safety measures.

They accused Minister Nara Lokesh of being indifferent to public suffering, drawing a contrast with Jagan’s hands-on approach during disasters and his relief work in cyclone-affected areas.

The upcoming yatra, party sources said, will mark the beginning of YSRCP’s renewed political outreach as it prepares to reclaim the trust of the people and reassert its focus on welfare and accountability.
