Jagan Justifies Freebies, Says Opp Wrong

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy justified his government rolling out freebies to the people in the name of one or the other scheme.

He made a hard hitting comment on the opposition parties for blaming his government on freebies.

While rolling out Rs 1124 crore financial aid to the MSME sector and the spinning mills on Friday, Jagan said money given to the people will increase their purchasing power.

He said that people would circulate every rupee given to them and that would keep the economy active and vibrant.

Several economists have been saying it clearly that money given to the people would keep the economy strong.

People have been supporting the AP government’s financial assistance programmes, particularly during the Covid 19 crisis.

However, the opposition parties have been accusing the government of increasing the debt burden on the state by giving money to the people.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the TDP government had borrowed Rs 1.50 lakh crore in the last five years of which major portion was spent on foreign tours and other events including the investor meets, which failed to get the investments to the state as claimed.

On the contrary the present government was giving financial assistance to the people to keep the market active.

The financial assistance given to the MSME sector is also helping the small industries to survive during the crisis, the chief minister said.
