Jagan did in 4 months what KCR could not in 5 years

Jagan did in 4 months what KCR could not in 5 years

Providing one lakh government jobs to unemployed youth was the promise made by Telangana CM KCR in 2014, after he assumed charge as first CM of Telangana State.

But more than five years down the line, KCR's promise remains only on the paper.

Hardly, he could issue appointment letters to 35,000 job seekers in these five years and another 70,000 posts are under various stages of recruitment.

But look at neighbouring AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

He promised to give 4 lakh jobs very soon on the day of taking oath as CM itself. Jagan made this annoucement from the dias itself while taking oath in the presence of KCR.

Jagan achieved this task within four months of becoming CM of AP.

Even KCR could not have believed on that day when Jagan announced to give 4 lakh government jobs.

Looking at all prominent newspapers today, KCR might have felt shocked, as every paper carried banner stories on Jagan handing over appointment letters to 1.29 lakh job seekers at one stroke.

The entire recruitment process was completed in just 15 days for ward/grama secreatariats though nearly 20 lakh candidates had applied, which itself is a record of sorts in the entire country as the biggest and fastest single recruitment drive undertaken by any government in Indepedent India.

This apart, Jagan provided another 2.50 lakh jobs to village and ward volunteers.

More importantly, Jagan annoiunced to take up recruitment drive in January every year for the next four years to fill every vacancy that arises in existing government posts due to retirement of existing staff.

He announced January as a month of recruitment every year, which no state in the country could do so far barring Centre's UPSC, which follows annual academic calender every year.

Jagan has emerged as a hero for unemployed youth in AP with his quick moves in taking decisions and also executing the same without wasting time on the name of committees.

KCR on the other hand still struggling to fulfill his promise to give one lakh government jobs in Telangana even after more than five years though the tagline for Telangana statehood agitation was funds, water and jobs.

Looks like KCR or any other CM in the country have much more to learn from Jagan, a much younger CM to them.
