I'm a tiger, can't work with a cat, says Kodela

Disgruntlement is brewing in the Telugu Desam Party in Palnadu district, with the group owing allegiance to former assembly speaker late Kodela Sivaprasada Rao raising a banner of revolt against the party for its controversial decisions.

Kodela’s son Kodela Sivaram, who has been nurturing Sattenapalli constituency for the last four years, has been terribly upset with party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s decision to rope in former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana into the fray.

Much to the chagrin of Kodela, Naidu announced the name of Kanna as the in-charge of the party in Sattenapalli and as the prospective party candidate in the next assembly elections.

Yet, Kodela Sivaram has not given up his fight for the assembly elections.

He has been aggressively taking up the TDP activities in Sattenpally in the name of “Intintikee Kodela,” and “Palle Nidra” programmes.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Sivaram said his father Sivaprasada Rao was a synonym for the TDP in Palnadu.

“Whenever people see a yellow flag, they will recall only Kodela and nobody else. Despite being his successor, I have been ignored by the party leadership,” he said.

Stating that he was being singled out in the TDP, Kodela’s son said there was a large scale conspiracy against him.

“Some other leader was brought into the fray in place of my father and I have been asked to walk along with him. But I am a tiger, born to a Palnadu tiger. I cannot walk along with cats,” Shivaram said, comparing Kanna with a cat.

Kodela’s son, however, ruled out changing the party, if he is not given the ticket.

“I belong to a family, which doesn’t change the parties for the sake of posts and power. We shall fight to get our right,” he sad.
