I Was Beaten Up, Raghurama Krishnam Raju

Narasapuram MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju gave a written complaint to the magistrate in the CBCID court at Guntur alleging that the police have abused and beaten him.

Raghurama Krishnam Raju was produced in the CBCID magistrate court on Saturday and submitted the remand report.

Though Raghurama Krishnam Raju’s advocates tried to enter the court, the police refused to allow them citing the Covid 19 protocol.

The CBCID court had directed the police to provide medical assistance to the MP in the private hospital in Guntur.

Meanwhile, the AP high court formed a special division bench headed by Justice Praveen Kumar, to look into Raghurama Krishnam Raju’s issue.

The court received complaints of police beating the MP during their custody. The court expressed displeasure over the police functioning.

The court also asked how the MP was beaten up in their custody.

Some video clippings of the CBCID police thrashing the MP in their vehicle at the time of arrest on Friday, were doing rounds in the electronic and social media.

The media, which is against Jagan Mohan Reddy, had dedicated most of their news space to highlight the defiant MP’s issue and are showing the video clips of damages to Raghurama Krishnam Raju’s legs.
