Govt To File Defamation Case Against TDP Leaders

Govt To File Defamation Case Against TDP Leaders

The Andhra Pradesh government had decided to file defamation case against the TDP leaders who have been accusing the government of promoting cheap liquor brands.

Though the government had announced that the liquor brands available in the state were originally permitted by the TDP government, the TDP leaders continue to blame the present government on the brands, making fun of the government.

The government had reportedly directed the excise and prohibition department to collect the names of the TDP leaders including Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh who have made fun of the liquor brands and attributed them to the present government.

Meanwhile, the manufacturers of these liquor brands too are likely to file a defamation suit against the TDP leaders who spoke lowering the image of their brands.

The liquor companies are actively considering the ways and means to proceed legally against the TDP leaders.

The liquor companies have valid licences and clearance certificates issued by the competent authorities and defaming the brands or degrading them amounted to crime.

It is to be seen how the government and the liquor companies would proceed on the issue and contain the TDP leaders from campaigning against the brands and the government as well.
