Family matters: Kavitha calls on Harish Rao

Family matters: Kavitha calls on Harish Rao

Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who was expelled from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi last month after making serious comments against her cousin and former minister T Harish Rao, called on the latter on Thursday.

Accompanied by her husband Anil Devanapalli, Kavitha went to Harish Rao’s residence at Kokapet and express their condolences on the demise of his father Taneeru Satyanarayana Rao, who passed away on Tuesday.

The couple paid floral tributes to the portrait of Satyanarayana Rao and spent some time with Harish Rao and his family members, expressing their grief over the tragedy.

Satyanarayana Rao happens to be the husband of Kavitha’s paternal aunt Lakshmi Bai, the seventh sister of BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Interestingly, Kavitha was away on her tour in Mahabubnagar district on Tuesday when Harish Rao’s father died. She just sent her condolence message on her social media handle.

While her father KCR and brother K T Rama Rao and all the other family members went to Harish Rao’s house to pay their last respects to Satyanarayana Rao, Kavitha was notably absent. Even her husband did not attend the last rites.

This led to sharp criticism from the BRS supporters, who accused Kavitha of giving more importance to her politics rather than human relations.

They wondered why she did not even make a phone call to console Harish Rao. So, on Thursday, she made a surprising visit to Harish Rao’s residence.

It is known fact that Kavitha had earlier alleged that Harish Rao played a role in the corruption charges on BRS and even warned KTR saying Harish might oust him from the party. Harish Rao has not publicly responded to these remarks.

By calling on Harish Rao, she sent the message that family ties continue to matter, even in politics, as stated by members of Telangana Jagruthi.
