Don't fall into BJP trap, Prakash Raj advises Pawan

Senior actor Prakash Raj is well known for his staunch opposition to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the saffron brigade.

He has frequently faced severe backlash from Sangh activists for his outspoken criticism of the Narendra Modi government.

His anti-BJP stance has also led to a rift with fellow actors, including Power Star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, who is currently the deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Ever since Pawan Kalyan aligned himself with the BJP and adopted a Hindutva-leaning political stance, Prakash Raj has consistently criticized him in social media posts and interviews.

He openly disagreed with Pawan Kalyan's “prayaschitta deeksha” during the Tirumala laddu adulteration controversy, his advocacy for Sanatana Dharma, and his views on the Hindi imposition debate.

In an interview on Monday, Prakash Raj warned Pawan Kalyan against getting trapped by the BJP.

He questioned why the deputy chief minister was so concerned about the BJP’s affairs in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, or West Bengal.

“First, focus on your own constituency. There are enough issues that need your attention there. Why worry about what’s happening in Maharashtra or Tamil Nadu or West Bengal?” he asked.

Calling the BJP a dangerous party, Prakash Raj said, “If BJP leaders place a hand on your shoulder, it’s not out of affection — it’s because they have an agenda. Once that agenda is fulfilled, they’ll discard you like a hot potato.”
