Dokka wants to join YSRC, but hesitant!

Former Congress minister and Telugu Desam Party leader Dokka Manikya Varaprasad, who has resigned from his legislative council membership recently, is desperate to join the YSR Congress party, but is hesitant to make the first moves.

He indicated his mind in an open letter to his friends and well-wishers, which was released to the media on Monday.

Dokka said he had been upset with the TDP leadership since the outcome of the election results for ignoring them, but did not disclose any specific instance for his charge. All that he indicated was that the party had bungled in ticket distribution during the 2019 elections.

“I was forced to contest from Prathipadu assembly constituency, though I had expected party ticket from Tadikonda constituency. Though I knew that I would be defeated, I had to abide by the party directions. But after the elections, the party had been indifferent to me,” he said.

The former minister gave a strange explanation for his resignation from council seat.

“I was aware that there would be confrontation between assembly and council over the capital bills. And I did not want to be part of this confrontation and hence, resigned,” he said.

But Dokka quietly disclosed his real mind.

“I was inclining towards YSR Congress party before the commencement of assembly elections itself. But I have not held any discussions with YSRC leadership,” he said, adding that he would work for the people irrespective of whichever party he was in.

He also dropped enough hints that he might not continue in the TDP, saying that he was pained at the allegations made against him in the Joint Action Committee.

However, he did not specifically say when he is going to join the YSRC or whether he is waiting for an invitation from the party.

His explanation is very strange, as he announced that he was resigning from the council membership in protest against the three capitals stand of the YSRC government. If he wanted to join the YSRC then, why did he make such a statement?

Well, that is what politics is all about!
