Defected MLA Repents For Being In TDP

Visakhapatnam (south) legislator Vasupalli Ganesh, who recently defected from the Telugu Desam Party into the YSR Congress party, is now repenting for being elected from the TDP.

“I had continued in the TDP for the last 14 months by killing my conscience. I should have been in the YSRC, being led by dynamic chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. I am ready to resign from my assembly membership. Let the TDP leadership sack me from the party,” Ganesh told reporters on Wednesday.

He claimed that he could not take up even a single work in Visakhapatnam South constituency during the TDP regime.

“I used to run around the then chief minister like a peon for sanctioning of works. Only those who were wearing suit and boots were preferred. Now, during the Jagan regime, I am able to do a lot for my people despite being in the opposition,” Ganesh said.

The defected MLA said there was no work for the opposition parties during the Jagan government.

“I had welcomed the announcement of Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital long ago. But some party leaders included my name in the representation to continue Amaravati as the capital without my knowledge,” he criticised.

Reacting to the criticism that he had betrayed the TDP, Ganesh said if he was the betrayer of the party, then Chandrababu Naidu was the betrayer of the poor people.

“However, I have nothing personal against anybody. Since people had rejected the TDP, I had to change the party. I have differences with the party only policies,” he said.
