CJI Ramana Thanks CM Jagan Twice

Chief Justice of India, Justice N V Ramana, thanked Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy twice at a meeting to inaugurate the court complex in Vijayawada on Saturday.

Justice Ramana said that he had tried to improve infrastructure in the judiciary by constructing more number of buildings. 

He also said that he had tried to fill all vacancies of judges across the country and was partially successful. 

On providing infrastructure in judiciary, he said he had proposed that the Centre should bear the cost as most of the states were facing revenue deficit. 

Though the Central government had not accepted his proposal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Benerji, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin have supported him. 

Thus, Justice Ramana thanked Jagan Mohan Reddy for extending his support to the demand on the increase of infrastructure in judiciary. 

Justice Ramana also thanked Jagan Mohan Reddy when the latter promised to provide maximum financial support to the judiciary. 

Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he would attend to all financial requirements of the judiciary, when the judges said that the construction of the judicial complex was delayed in Vijayawada due to financial problems. 

The chief justice thanked the chief minister for promising to attend to the financial needs of the courts.
