Chinna Jeeyar comments get political turn!

Ever since Telangana Rashtra Samithi government and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao began ignoring him after the episode of Statue of Equality inauguration on February 5, whatever popular Vaishnavaite saint Chinna Jeeyar Swamy has been saying is becoming controversial and is given a political twist.

In fact, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy has been maintaining utmost restraint in his comments because the social media, apparently backed by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, has been trolling him heavily.

The social media dug out some old clippings out of context and accused him of denigrating tribal deities, Dalits and non-vegetarians. Even a section of Brahmins launched a tirade against him stating that he had insulted Shaivaites.

Since then, he has been maintaining silence and confining himself to preaching of his philosophy. But whatever he says in a lighter vein is also being a given political twist and used by political leaders to run down their rivals.

On Wednesday, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy was addressing devotees at Rajahmundry on some spiritual issues. As part of his preaching, the Swamiji said: “It is common for everybody to witness ups and downs in his or her life. One has to pass through several bumpy roads in one’s life journey.”

In a lighter vein, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy said: “The ups and downs in one’s life was like my travel from Jangareddygudem to Rajahmundry. It took me three hours to reach here because of the bumpy roads.”

Everybody laughed at his comments. Apparently, the Swamiji was trying to say that life is not a smooth journey and one has to face several hurdles and difficulties in reaching one’s goal.

But Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh, who always looks for some issue to take a dig at the Jagan Mohan Reddy government day in and day out, has taken the lighter vein comment of Chinna Jeeyar seriously.

He said even a spiritual leader like Chinna Jeeyar Swamy had experienced the bad condition of roads in AP and mentioned the same in his preaching.

“Everybody is commenting on the bad road conditions in AP. The other day, Telangana minister K T Rama Rao made a similar comment on AP roads,” he pointed out.
