Chandrababu Naidu is a senior politician and a multiple-time CM of Andhra Pradesh. Things worked in his favor in his early days of his CM career as there was no digital media and social media.
The newspapers used to write big about him and the TV channel Doordarshan used to project him rightly in news. His image as a visionary, with world-class exposure and all, was projected in a big way.
But now things have changed. Times have changed and Gen Z voters are looking out for leaders who speak sense and, basically, who speak good English.
In fact, not being able to speak good English is not a limitation for any leader. But he shouldn’t appear in public always, when even English has to be spoken.
Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi deputes the Foreign Minister or IT Minister or Finance Minister to speak and articulate on foreign affairs or IT or finance matters in perfect English.
Hiring the perfect people for the right jobs and using them accordingly is called leadership.
Don’t know why Chandrababu is not learning this basic thing from Narendra Modi, the national icon and respected Prime Minister of India, whose party BJP is part of the alliance in the AP government with Chandrababu’s TDP now.
Chandrababu should change his ways. Exposing weaknesses publicly is not the step of a wise leader. Many are trolling on social media for Chandrababu’s English.
