BRS to contest all assembly seats in AP!

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the transformed form of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), has not even entered the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh by conducting a public meeting or opening its office.

BRS president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has just appointed a retired IAS officer and businessman Thota Chandrasekhar from Guntur as the president of the BRS Andhra unit. A few other Kapu leaders also joined the BRS, but so far, they have hardly taken up any political activity in Andhra.

Yet, Thota Chandrasekhar has high hopes on the prospects of the BRS in Andhra Pradesh. On Wednesday, he declared that the party would contest for all the assembly elections in the state in the next year’s elections.

Speaking to reporters after garlanding the statue of Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga in Vijayawada, Chandrasekhar said Telangana model would be implemented in Andhra Pradesh as well to make it a prosperous state.

Stating that Andhra Pradesh was plagued with several issues, the BRS state unit president said the state had plunged into a crisis during the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

“The people of the state are not able to say which city is their capital,” he criticised.

Stating that the Centre was turning a Nelson’s eye towards Andhra Pradesh, Chandrasekhar said it was not providing any help to the state in any project, including Polavaram.

“The opposition Congress has become totally weak and it has no energy to face the BJP. That is why, KCR has launched BRS with a slogan of farmers’ regime,” he said.
