At Last, Ramoji Rao Bows Down To Social Media

Eenadu has been a giant in the media industry for five decades. What it writes or shows has been news for all these decades.

There have hardly been any occasions when Eenadu carried a correction or rejoinder. Even if it did carry one, it was not as prominent as the news it corrected.

Perhaps for the first time, Ramoji Rao admitted his mistake on Wednesday, at least in the online edition.

Eenadu had carried TDP spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhiram’s photos on the front page and had half a dozen photos showing injuries to his body.

Social media users criticized Eenadu, stating that the photos were related to 2021 and not the Gannavaram incident.

Admitting its mistake, Eenadu removed the photos from the e-paper and carried a regret message in the online edition.

But what is important is the print edition of the paper, which was distributed to people on that day and was already in the hands of readers.

It remains to be seen whether Eenadu will carry the correction and regrets in the print edition of the paper on Thursday, so that readers who saw the photos on Wednesday realize that it was Ramoji Rao’s mistake.

It remains to be seen if Ramoji Rao will stand for the values in the media, at least when he is exposed."
