After ignoring the party activities for quite some time, Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan has started focussing on the party activities, particularly the performance of his party MLAs.
In the last assembly elections, Jana Sena bagged 21 out of 21 assembly seats and two out of two Lok Sabha seats. However, Pawan Kalyan has conducted formal performance reviews of Jana Sena legislators until now.
According to party sources, Pawan Kalyan has now decided to initiate a comprehensive internal review of his own party’s MLAs. On Friday, he began holding one-on-one meetings with party MLAs.
During these individual interactions, Pawan Kalyan is reviewing constituency-level development works, implementation of welfare schemes, details of ongoing projects, prevailing local issues, and the functioning of party programmes at the grassroots level.
Jana Sena party sources said that Pawan Kalyan was meeting nine MLAs on Friday as part of the first phase of the review. The meetings began with senior Avanigadda MLA Buddha Prasad.
Subsequently, Pawan Kalyan is holding individual meetings with Deva Varaprasad, Lokam Naga Madhavi, Giddi Satyanarayana, Pantham Nanaji, CH Vamsi Krishna, Nimmaka Jayakrishna, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, and Sundarapu Vijay Kumar.
Party sources indicated that meetings with the remaining MLAs are likely to be held on Saturday.
Sources further revealed that Pawan Kalyan is offering specific guidance and corrective suggestions to MLAs whose performance has been found lacking, underlining his intent to strengthen the party’s governance credentials and public outreach.
