It seems some leaders have clearly understood that one’s words carry weight only when they hold a position.
Perhaps that's why, without any positions in hand, they are choosing to remain silent. Reports suggest that a few BJP leaders from Visakhapatnam district have gone completely into silent mode.
GVL Narasimha Rao, who once actively declared “Visakhapatnam is my own home” while serving as a Rajya Sabha member, is now said to be almost inactive. Even though he aimed for the post of Andhra Pradesh BJP president, he couldn’t secure it.
Similarly, BC leader PVN Madhav, who had hopes of getting an MLC seat and also contested for the state BJP president post, reportedly couldn’t succeed in either. As a result, he too has reportedly opted for silence.
There are many others in the party who are in the same situation after failing to get any positions. As for when these leaders will break their silence, insiders say only the high command can answer that.
