The state government intends to file a case against both the management of Eenadu and its journalists for publishing false reports.
On May 12, 2023, Eenadu published a story criticizing the Polavaram project, alleging that the government had neglected it.
Contrary to Eenadu's claims, the government has been diligently working on the project with unwavering commitment. However, Eenadu's reports are misleading and seem to be motivated propaganda against the government.
On Tuesday, the state government issued a notification authorizing the water resources department to proceed with the defamation lawsuit.
It's worth mentioning that Eenadu has been leading a campaign against the state government on various issues.
