Amaravati: Boston Group To Submit Report Tomorrow

The Boston Consulting Group is likely to give its report to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister on Friday.

According to the available information, the members of the Boston Group have already approached the chief minister office for appointment with chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The State government is in possession of the expert committee report headed by retired IAS officer G N Rao on the capital development and decentralization proposals.

The cabinet had already studied the report at its meeting on December 28 and deferred a decision.

Once the Boston Group gives its report, the cabinet is scheduled to discuss it on January 8 at its regular meeting and forward the same to the high level committee headed by finance minister Buggana Rajendhranath for further study.

The high level committee, comprising of ministers and the senior IAS officers, was asked to make a comparative study of the two reports and make its recommendations.

The commendations are likely to be given to the cabinet in the third week of January.

The State government is planning to convene special session of the Assembly in the last week of January or the first week of February to discuss the reports and take a decision.

The G N Rao committee had already made its recommendations suggesting decentralization of administration and development with legislative capital in Amaravati and shifting executive capital to Visakhapatnam and judicial capital to Kurnool.
