Legendary actress Savitri used to be very careless with respect to her money and gold. It seems that she used to show her gold ornaments to all the people who ever comes to see her (among friends and distant friends). She used to have the flamboyance and show put up but very kind and generous. She lost a few gold ornaments when has shown them to some visitors and went inside. But later she didn't regret or found fault with them it seems. When asked she said to her close friend, "They might have liked those ear rings and took away. I can buy another one. But they cannot. They would have felt shame to ask me. Hence they took liberty to take that away. I don't take all this gold when I die. Let them enjoy".
Same is the case with lakhs of rupees she gave to her friends and needy people when asked. She never asked them to pay back. But that rich lady ended her life in penniless condition. Even then she didn't ask the people who she helped for money. At the same time the people who took her help when she was rich didn't help her in need.
