After Years of Flops, He Finally Strikes Gold

Actor Ranveer Singh celebrated the success of Dhurandhar with a thoughtful post on Instagram.

Reflecting on the journey, he wrote, “Kismat ki ek bohot khoobsurat aadat hai, ki woh waqt aane par badalti hai. Lekin filhal, nazar aur sabr.”

Fans quickly noticed that Ranveer cleverly borrowed a dialogue associated with Akshaye Khanna’s character from the film to express his emotions after its massive success.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the espionage drama has reportedly grossed ₹552.70 crore worldwide within just 10 days of its release on December 5.

The film marks a major turnaround for Ranveer Singh, ending nearly six years of inconsistent box-office results after Gully Boy (2019).

During this phase, films like ’83 (2021), Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022), and Cirkus (2022) failed to meet expectations, while Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) stood out as his only clear hit. Ranveer also did not have a single film release in 2024.

Looking ahead, Ranveer is set to begin shooting for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 early next year. He will then move on to Pralay, a zombie film directed by Jay Mehta, which reportedly revolves around a zombie outbreak in Mumbai.
