Nandamuri Balakrishna, during the ongoing session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, asked MLAs and ministers who greeted him to first watch Pawan Kalyan’s OG before gearing up for his own upcoming release, Akhanda 2.
He mentioned that promotions for Akhanda 2 will begin only after the euphoria surrounding OG settles.
Balakrishna also revealed that the film is slated for release on December 5, though the producers are yet to make an official announcement.
Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, Akhanda 2 is the sequel to the blockbuster Akhanda.
The film is being planned as a pan-Indian release, especially as the first installment found strong viewership in North India on OTT platforms.
With devotional action dramas gaining traction in the Hindi market, the sequel — where Balakrishna once again plays dual roles, including that of an Aghora — fits perfectly into the trend.
