With most major films having locked their Sankranthi 2026 slots, the festive lineup is already crowded.
Biggies like Prabhas’s “The Raja Saab” and Chiranjeevi’s “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu” are set to dominate theaters, while remaining screens will go to films such as Naveen Polishetty’s “Anaganaga Oka Raju.”
Meanwhile, Tamil stars Vijay and Sivakarthikeyan have both confirmed Pongal 2026 releases: “Jana Nayagan” and “Parasakthi” respectively.
However, unlike his previous blockbusters that saw simultaneous releases in Tamil and Telugu, Vijay’s “Jana Nayagan” may not see a major Telugu release this time.
Sources indicate that Vijay is focusing entirely on making “Jana Nayagan” a massive success in Tamil Nadu, as it will be his final film before entering active politics and contesting the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Given this strategic shift, the Telugu version’s release remains uncertain, with trade circles suggesting it might only have a limited or delayed release — if at all.
For Vijay, it’s clear that the Tamil market takes precedence this time.
