Vijay D Sets NYC Ablaze as Grand Marshal

Actor Vijay Deverakonda received a prestigious honor by participating as the Grand Marshal at the 43rd World’s Largest India Day Parade, organized by the Federation of Indian Associations in New York, USA. Actress Rashmika Mandanna also joined him as a Grand Marshal.

This parade is considered the biggest Indian celebration outside India, conducted with the same grandeur as Independence Day and Republic Day in our country.

The event was graced by the Mayor of New York City, the Indian Consul General, and several other distinguished guests.

The parade featured 41 floats moving through the blocked streets of New York. On the very first float, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna greeted the huge crowd gathered for the event. Held on Madison Avenue with the theme “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (May All Be Happy), the celebrations were conducted on a grand scale.

The event began with tributes to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the Ahmedabad plane crash. Alongside the local Americans, a massive number of Indian diaspora members in the U.S. took part. A staggering 6 lakh (600,000) people attended this year’s celebrations.

This India Day Parade has been celebrated annually since 1981.
