Rajamouli’s “RRR” grossed more than 9 million dollars in the first weekend by becoming the second highest grossing Telugu film ever in the USA. However, the film has failed to beat ‘Baahubali 2’.
Billed as India’s biggest action drama, the film was screened in 1200 locations. “RRR” grossed approximately $1.2 million, taking its total to $9 million (1200 locations).
“Baahubali 2”, on the other hand, was screened in 425 locations and grossed $2.3 million on its first Sunday. The first-weekend collection of $10.4 million (425 locations).
Released amidst the hype, “RRR” received mixed word-of-mouth. It has to be seen how would it go forward in the coming days.
