US BO: Eagle Collects Less Than 'Tiger'

The main films that were released last weekend at the US box office were Ravi Teja's "Eagle," Rajinikanth's "Lal Salaam," and "Yatra 2," all of which failed to post impressive numbers. All have been declared flops.

In the first weekend, Ravi Teja's film "Eagle" grossed significantly less than his previous film "Tiger Nageswara Rao".

While "Tiger Nageswara Rao" grossed $296k in its first weekend, "Eagle" made around $260k.

The film confirmed that Ravi Teja's market remains low. Despite the makers' exaggerated claims, the film performed poorly.

#Eagle Thur: $90,522 Fri: $71,704 Sat: $70,504 Sun: $30k (apprx) Total Weekend Gross: $262k

"Yatra 2," a biopic of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, also failed to perform well at the box office. It had a very low number in its first weekend.

#Yatra2 Thur: $75,725 Fri: $14,886 Sat: $16,471 Sun: $3k (apprx) Total Weekend Gross: $110k

Rajinikanth is one of the few Indian stars who has massive openings in the United States, regardless of genre or director.

Although he did not play the lead hero in "Lal Salaam," given his extended guest role, one could expect decent numbers. However, even Rajinikanth's die-hard fans showed no interest in seeing the film. It ended up being a disaster.

#LalSalaam Fri: $101,381 Sat: $61,683 Sun: $5k Total Weekend Gross: $168k
