Top 5: Vijay Deverakonda's Publicity Gimmick Didn't Work

1) Khaidi: Karthi's high-octane action ride Khaidi is making merry in Telugu markets. The film had a fabulous second weekend to bring handsome profits to all parties involved.

It dominated the box office in its second weekend despite new releases. It has turned out to be a smash hit in Tamilnadu as well.

The makers of Khaidi took a gamble by releasing it against a biggie Bigil and it paid off.  

2) Meeku Matrame Chepta: Vijay Deverakonda strongly believes in promoting movies in an aggressive fashion.

He has done terrific promotions for his maiden production Meeku Matrame Chepta too. But publicity gimmicks wouldn't make a film work all the time.

He should see that there is solid content in his films before hitting the road for promoting his stuff.

3) Whistle: This film was largely benefitted by Diwali weekend has turned out to be the highest grossing movie for Vijay in Telugu States.

The film is more or less a safe venture for everyone involved. Buyers from a couple of areas in Andhra are yet to breakeven though.

4) Terminator: Dark Fate: The new addition to Terminator franchise has grabbed the attention of action fans and did fairly well in its first weekend across the multiplexes.

5) Aaviri: Ravi Babu's disastrous streak at the ticket windows continued with Aaviri. Including Dil Raju's name in the posters didn't fool the audience to watch his insipid horror film.

Ravi Babu's minimalistic production design isn't going to save a lacklustre script.
