Aryan Khan’s The Ba***ds of Bollywood, spanning seven episodes started its streaming on Netflix. Much of the buzz rode on its heavyweight cameos. But what happened finally?
SS Rajamouli and Aamir Khan share the frame in an episode. Marketed as “two geniuses together,” the sequence fizzles into casual Idli-Sambar and Vada-Pav banter, that neither generated laughs nor made any point. Probably, this small scene was created to prove that even geniuses talk about trivial stuff.
Emraan Hashmi makes his entry in an episode as an intimacy coach. Even he failed to make any impact though appeared little longer than rest of cameos.
Salman Khan glimpses in with a blink-and-miss cameo, in a party scene. The whistle-worthy theatre moment has little relevance on OTT, leaving viewers wondering why it was there at all.
Shah Rukh Khan joins in during The Filmfirst Awards, to give away awards.
Unfortunately, the star power feels squandered as the cameos serve no real narrative purpose. For all their stature, these legends are reduced to pointless appearances.
