Talented Director With Nine Years Gap

Talented Director With Nine Years Gap

There are directors who find themselves empty-handed due to a lack of film projects. Some directors face setbacks and are sidelined after experiencing flops. Others may be left behind due to a scarcity of opportunities. But what can one do when faced with a career gap in spite of hard work at every minute? It is simply a stroke of bad luck.

In the case of this particular director, there has been a nine-year hiatus in his career. Despite being a National Award-winning director, it seems that every project he undertook came to a standstill. In fact, not one or two, but five movies have been stalled during these nine years. It is a string of unfortunate events that is hard to fathom.

The director shared his experience with the media, stating, "Two films were supposed to commence production, and I put in a lot of effort, but they never took off. After the movie Maya, I received an offer from Mahesh Bhatt. He wanted to make the film in Hindi, and I even signed on for it, but it was abruptly halted at the last minute. Then, two more films reached the shooting stage, only to be halted due to unforeseen reasons. After that, I worked on a Malayalam film. So, there was a nine-year gap in my work in Tollywood."

Neelkantha laughed as he shared his pain with the media. The film Queen, which he was directing, was abruptly stopped in the middle. At the time, rumors circulated about a dispute between Tamanna and Neelkanta. However, Neelkanta clarified that people only knew about this one film, whereas many other projects had been halted throughout his career.

Apart from these films, there was also a Vivekananda series planned with Daggubati Venkatesh, which unfortunately did not materialize despite all the preparations made.

After a long hiatus of nine years, this director is finally making a comeback to the audience with the movie Circle. Neelkanta believes that audiences now appreciate and crave different kinds of films, just as he enjoys making unique and diverse films. Therefore, Neelkanta is optimistic about the success of the movie Circle.
