Summer Ends, Tollywood Box Office Falls Flat

Summer Ends, Tollywood Box Office Falls Flat

The crucial summer season has ended for Tollywood, and the results have been underwhelming.

Between March, April, and May, around 75 films were released — but none from major stars.

Highly anticipated releases like Viswambhara and Raja Saab were postponed, leaving the box office cold.

March saw 29 releases but no blockbusters. However, Court and MAD Square managed decent box office runs, offering some relief. Robinhood flopped badly, while Dil Ruba was critically panned.

April was worse. Around 25 films were released, but not even a single hit emerged. Films like Jack, Oodelu-2, Arjun Son of Vyjayanthi, and Sarangapani Jathakam failed to meet expectations — with Jack performing disastrously.

May started strong with Hit-3, which had a grand opening and claimed to cross ₹100 crore in collections. But the buzz faded within four days, and the film settled for an average run.

Meanwhile, Sri Vishnu’s Single was a surprise success. Films like Shubham, Bhairavam, and Shastipoorthi flopped.

With not a single true blockbuster this summer, the focus now shifts to the next big seasons — Dussehra and Christmas.
