South Indian Cinema Is The Real Indian Cinema

South Indian Cinema Is The Real Indian Cinema

Gone are those days when Bollywood is considered to be the address of Indian Cinema.

The patronage for Hindi films has drastically come down and nothing interesting is being offered from anyone when compared to the films from down South.

Ace Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor praised South Indian cinema in his own style.

He said- "Today, some of the Mumbai filmmakers serve...KFC...where you get only what you order, whereas...South [films] offer you thali with roti, dal-chawal...chicken. Most...South films are made for the Indian audience".

It is true to a great extent. While Malayalam cinema is ruling roost on the OTT circuit, the Telugu cinema is boasting its might at the theaters even in the worst times.

Tamil cinema is also competing in its style and holding a better grip on the North audience with its dubbed films. Kannada film industry is also showing its power with some pan Indian films these days.

With all this, we can say that South Indian cinema that was looked down by Bollywood can be called the real Indian Cinema.
